In the Church but Still in Babylon

Audio: mp3

There are two classes of people in the world, a majority and a minority. We will look at the majority. The majority is likened to a city. There are more people that live in the city than the country so the city incorporates the majority. Mexico City has 21 million living in one city which is more than the population of Australia.

Revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Here is a majority in three parts. What are the three parts that incorporate the majority of the world?

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Here we have three divisions. The city was divided into three divisions and here is the dragon which is what? Paganism. The beast is Catholicism and the last one is apostate Protestantism, the false prophet. False Protestants. In these three divisions paganism is idolatry. It is worshipping something else other than the living God. In paganism is collected all the religions of the world bar two.

The Majority and the Minority

Catholicism is a mixture between pagan worship and Christianity. It is a blending of the two. The false prophet is the Christian faith that has gone into apostasy. These three segments incorporate the whole world. Everyone comes into one of these segments. The world is divided. There are Muslims against Christians and vice versa. The minority is united, not divided. They have one faith, one Lord and one baptism.

The Majority and The Minority

We will look at these two classes in a different way. Today living on this earth there is only two classes.

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

This is the minority who will have the seal of God in their forehead and who will have Gods character imprinted upon their lives and persons. In their mouth is no guile or bitterness.

Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Two Classes

One has the seal of God and the other the mark of a man. T he whole world is incorporated in these two factors. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God and shall be burnt with fire. Jesus calls us over the tumult of our life’s wild, restless sea. Jesus Christ is calling;

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Come out as she’ll burn. The plagues are going to be poured out on this city.

Revelation 15:1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.  2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

The wrath of God is coming upon Babylon. Her sins have reached up unto heaven and he is very conscious of everything Babylon is doing. Babylon consists of three parts which incorporates the whole world. But what does that have to do with me?

What Does Babylon Have to Do With Me?

When you think of Babylon what do you think of? We think of the papal system and all the wrong things they have done and also the high corporate government problems. Babylon rules the world, it’s a hierarchy. What does that have to do with me? I live in the country, what does this have to do with me? Do I fit into any of these three categories? The Catholic Church? No, not me. Paganism? Is that us? No. We know who we worship, the living God. The Christian world has gone into apostasy, the false prophet but we are in the Advent movement, present truth so no it’s not me. These things really don’t’ concern me. I have come out of Babylon and I am part of this denomination and we know not to call this denomination Babylon so we know I have nothing to worry about.

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

God has given prophets and apostles and the whole brotherhood. In Revelation there is a false prophet;

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

This is the false prophet but can there be false apostles? Yes there can be.

2 Corinthians 11:26 [In] journeyings often, [in] perils of waters, [in] perils of robbers, [in] perils by [mine own] countrymen, [in] perils by the heathen, [in] perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in] perils among false brethren;

You can have a false prophet, false apostles and false brethren. Paul is writing that he is having trouble in the ocean, with countrymen, heathens and false brethren. People that are attached to him. There are three parts. The heathen countrymen which is the pharisaical religion and his brethren which is the Christian faith.  When you look at the pharisaical religion in the time of Christ and the papacy now, they are so similar. Paul is saying they are false brethren. Where does this false system belong?

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

The Lake of Fire

This lake of fire that is burning with brimstone and the false prophet, apostles and brethren go there. The wrath of God is coming upon this city because of its iniquity. Iniquity caused by paganism, popery and by false Christians. That is why the wrath of God is coming upon this earth. We think wow big sins, they have gone a long way. Murder, drunkenness, all these outrageous sins.

Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: These are big sins correct? Inordinate affection – homosexuality. A big sin. Concupiscence is losing control of yourself, going into a rage. 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

The reason why the wrath of God is coming is because of sins.

Colossians 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

These big things you used to live in but now you don’t. What is the wrath of God? The plagues. Come out of her. What are we coming out of? Uncleanness and idolatry. Have we come out of them? Do we practise these? In which you used to do, but now you don’t.

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.  9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;  10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Is this not the seal of God? These big sins you have put them off but now you have to put off another type of sin. Also put off anger, wrath, malice and lie not one to another. Don’t lie. If you lie are you false? If you are false where do you belong? The lake of fire.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Is patience required? Revelation says here is the patience of the saints. To run with patience you have to take something off. The sin that so easily besets us. What does beset mean? It means troubled persistently. Surrounded and harassed and assailed on all sides. There is a sin that always harasses us in all time and circumstances. If we are talking about big sins of drinking, if there is no drink is it hard to put off? There is no drink to drink. What about murder? If there is no one to hate and murder is it hard to avoid? Do these big sins surround us continually? Or is it the other? Malice, lying. Can you lie anytime you like? You don’t need any circumstance to lie. These sins, it doesn’t matter where you go you will get them. You may think you have no sins to overcome.

A False Christian System

There is a temptation you can never avoid and that is the temptation that comes to you in thoughts. What is the meaning of malice? Cattiness, being bitter and affecting people. That is malice. These are the thoughts. Why is the wrath of God coming upon this earth? Because of the sins. My question to you is – are you part of the false Christian system? You don’t need to be in any cathedral or apostate movement to be false or a circumstance to be false. You can be false right here in the church.

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Change your mind, get rid of the mark of man out of your head and put on the seal of God.

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

After who? It’s God’s name. Every person of the same family has the same last name and they are similar and so God’s people are like God in attitude.

Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.  30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Are You In Babylon?

The Bible really emphasises lies. This is talking about attitudes. There was a brother who went to meet another brother who had a bitter experience in the church. He felt so unfairly undone and treated. Someone went to visit him and they talked and the brother was really bitter. The person thought this brother really has bitterness. They separated and 50 years went by and the brother went back and met the brother who was bitter and he was still talking about the same points. That is not growth. If after 50 years you haven’t moved on, you are not growing. If you are not growing, have you connected to the vine? Bitterness is the result of not enough life and you become bitter. Bitterness over circumstances as someone has done something and you hold onto it and it sours your whole life. Is it not upon Babylon that the wrath of God comes? It’s on malice it comes which Babylon so happens to have. If you have malice where are you? In Babylon. You can be sitting here in this church and be in Babylon. Put it away. Lay off the sin that so easily besets us. It is so easy to have these negative thoughts about people. It is so easy to have envy and jealously. If someone is successful and feelings of envy arise and you wish you had that, you start being envious. These sins are the biggest sins.

The Prodigal Son’s Brother

The prodigal son went and lived in riotous living and outrageous sins and he came back and his elder brother was jealous. His father welcomed him and his elder brother said I’ve been here all my life and I’ve not even had a little gathering with my friends.

Luke 15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.  29 And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:  30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

Then is revealed the elder brothers selfishness. He had pride, envy and maliciousness. These were growing in him. Who of the two brothers came to repentance? The one with the outrageous sins came to repentance. The other brother said I have lived with you all these years and I’ve not even transgressed your law but inside of him there was envy toward his brother that he didn’t even want to call him his brother anymore. False Christianity produces these inward sins so easily beset. In paganism and Catholicism you will find outrageous sins and in the false prophet you will find envy, bitterness, strife and lying and upon these does the wrath of God comes to this earth. This is why the wrath of God comes. At the beginning of the Christian faith there was a warning God had given;

Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2 And kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy [to it], and brought a certain part, and laid [it], at the apostles’ feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried [him] out, and buried [him]. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.  8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.  9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and shall carry thee out.  10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying [her] forth, buried [her] by her husband.  11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Today great fear should come upon all of us about these sins. These inward sins of malice, bitterness and lying. Ananias sold part of the land and they didn’t have to give any but they said they would give it all. Even if they came and talked about it but they said no, we’ll say we sold the land for this much. Ananias took it and said here is what we sold the land for but Peter knew and he was smitten dead. Then his wife came and the same thing happened.

Do you ever tell small lies? Just a little twist of the truth? Does it really matter in Gods eyes? This sin was punished very openly. Right at the beginning of the church. The wrath of God was coming upon the false Christian. If you lie today, it is the same result as lying in the days of the apostles. Maybe you think you’re not an apostle or a prophet and surely I can lie a little.

2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

Are you an epistle? Who writes an epistle? An apostle. If you are an epistle, are you not an apostle?

2 Corinthians 3:3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

We are living epistles written by an apostle. If you are a Christian, and you do not act in attitude as a Christian, what are you? A false epistle read and known of all men. The person that gets to read our lives the most is those within our own family. We may not lie to the judge in court, minster or church committee but you may lie at home. Do you have wrath at home? That is where your children read you, what you are like in the closet. Jesus said don’t pray like the Pharisees outwardly but go into your closet and pray as when you go in there you are praying inward. Everyone has a living ministry who names the name of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;  2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

What does God see? God sees the thoughts and intents of your heart. The false prophet has a place in the burning fire where there is torment. The people that suffer most in the lake of fire are those that have the weeping and gnashing of teeth that say we have done this and that in your name but he says depart from me. Because in your heart there is this bitterness, malice and cattiness. That place of torment is because you knew Gods will but you only did it outwardly.

2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ’s, even so [are] we Christ’s.

Do you look at a brothers failings outwardly and then your inward maliciousness comes in?

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Can you tell someone else to stop thinking about something? The more you talk about it, the more they think about it. This casting down imaginations is a personal duty. You can’t cast down the imaginations of anyone but yourself. When we look at the majority and the minority, where are we? In the outward we are in the minority but in heart are you part of the majority? Are you part of Babylon? Babylon’s sins of maliciousness and bitterness have reached to heaven and God is saying come out of her my people. Cast off that sin that so easily besets you. These thoughts put off.

You have put off the old man in the big sins but now put off the old man in bitterness and malice. If you dye your hair red when you are blonde, what does everyone think your hair colour is when they look at you? Red. Is that true? No. Because what colour is your hair? Blonde.  This is an example of what happens inwardly that you can go to places and speak nice and then you can go home and the roots are blonde not red. The roots are bitterness and the outward is only an index of the inward. As Christians we shouldn’t die our hair but most of all we shouldn’t have maliciousness in our hearts.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

What is destruction coming for? To take out those who are false.

1 Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

The 144,000 have no guile. How do you lay and cast it off? How do you cast off a thought?  When I was young I had a hard time to stop myself laughing when we would pray as my brother would do something funny and I found it hard. The more I tried stopping the funnier it got and the more I tried to suppress it the harder it got until I outburst with laughter. The outburst came from my thoughts. As the years went on my brother would do it to me I would think about Jesus on the cross. I can never laugh with that scene. When I think about that I can’t. It’s not about stopping laughing it’s about thinking about the cross. We are to leave sins that beset us looking unto Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He had a contradiction of sinners against himself but we haven’t resisted unto blood. To control your thoughts is to occupy them with something else.

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon (THINK) ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

What does reckon mean? Can you reckon something to be something? It is your thoughts. It’s what you think. Think that you are dead. Don’t let the sinful thoughts control your mind.

Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.  13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God.

First its reckoning and then yielding. I think this and then I’m going to act it.

Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men (SIMPLY) because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

How do you sin? The way you sin is the way you don’t sin. When you are sinning, before you do the act you think about it. If you like it you are thinking about it. Then you start doing it. It’s the same way but in the other direction. As you think about it, you will eventually do it. If there was your favourite food before you, what goes through your mind? I like that. Savour the life of Jesus and enjoy him as then you will just take Jesus. As you have yielded to sin so you yield to righteousness. How do you get out of malicious thoughts? Think of Jesus. We don’t want to look like a picture of a flower that doesn’t smell like a flower. We don’t want a picture of a flower. That is what the wrath of God is coming upon the earth. All these pictures of Christians. One dimensional. They look it but that’s it as there is no tangible beauty. Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation. Watch what? The faults of others? Everyone else?

2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he [is] Christ’s, even so [are] we Christ’s. 12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Don’t look to your brothers and think I’m better than them so I must make it to heaven. Look to Jesus and you will be part of the minority. You will avoid the malicious heart as you will have a new heart created after God with his beautiful attributes. These are those that will be saved. Those who have the character of God but not in appearance but stamped in their foreheads. It is my prayer that we will be of the remnant of her seed and come out of her my people. What is the world? Lying and malicious. Take the world away and give me Jesus.
