We should strive to be among the 144,000 and because that is what we need to be doing, we need to be acquainted with the experiences of the 144,000. The beginning of Revelation 7 is given to the sealing of the 144,000.
Revelation 7:1 And after these things… Read the rest of this entry
Audio: The Time of Trouble
It is said of the 144,000 in their description that these are they which came out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. It is one thing to have tribulation but another thing to come out of it. We can all go into it, it is not too hard to do that but to come out is a different story.
Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation [even] to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
To come out of great tribulation you have to be written in the book and it says the 144,000 came out of great tribulation as this tribulation is going to embrace the whole world whether you believe the Lord or not but there will be only 144,000 living saints when Jesus comes that have come out of the tribulation. Will you come out of tribulation? Perhaps you have tasted some tribulation. The thing that will determine if you come out of the tribulation or not is whether you get offended or not because God will come and take out of his kingdom all that offend and do iniquity. In Christendom people won’t stand up and say yes I’m a worker of iniquity. It is quite an obvious thing that you wouldn’t claim. Read the rest of this entry
It is said the 144,000 were perfectly united. Is that true? Would you like to be among this people? We want to understand the unity the 144,000 have and what that has to do with Jesus coming back and taking his people home. In the Bible sleeping people always had a bad time. We know the story of Samson and Utacas and you know what happened to sleeping Caesarea. I pray we can get a blessing from this to supply our temporal needs. Jesus is coming to receive his kingdom and Jesus is speaking and is saying something about receiving his kingdom. Jesus was demonstrating to people looking for the kingdom of heaven. We are looking today how these words apply.
Did you hear the news? Jesus is coming. Do we want to be ready for his coming? The 144,000 are not defiled with women. It was also written they follow the lamb whithersoever he goeth. Jesus is coming and we need to follow him as he leads the way to victory over the world. For thousands of years since the whole world has been in sin, the devil that rules this world has been trying to kill God’s people right from the beginning, right from when God put enmity between the woman and the serpents seed. Enmity is what makes war.
As this enmity is placed, it was placed for our salvation because if it wasn’t there we would love the devil so much. As Adam and Eve sinned their mind became the mind of the evil one perfectly so they were estranged with God and God was their enemy and they ran from him instantly and they were friends with the devil. To put man on neutral ground again, God had to do something. He had to make them and the devil enemies. Man was now at enmity with both of them. That put man in the position to choose which one he wanted. There was an inclining to good and enmity gave man the power of choice. In order to give man the power of choice it also opened up a walk which otherwise wouldn’t have been because the devil and his angels are somewhat united as a house divided cannot stand. The experience of the 144,000 is most interesting. They have the most difficult war to overcome yet they stand victors on the great mountain of Mount Zion and the lamb is the source of their victory as they overcome him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. The experience of the 144,000 is what I’d like to talk of and their relief of their association. This study will be centered in Revelation 7.
Revelation 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
This is the hub of our consideration and we have read this and then we are going to go through our study and then read it again. Here is a description of these 144,000 going through an experience of hunger, thirst and they have tears. The lamb, the shepherd of the sheep will wipe away all their tears. That is what we want to understand. Therefore our study will consider each topic. Wherever there is a church that stops preaching the gospel in verity, it must seek for another power to control the people because the preaching of the gospel is the power that God delivered to the church, no other power than that. Here is a definite command of holy writ. Read the rest of this entry
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
It is written that we shouldn’t occupy our minds with who will comprise the 144,000 and we shouldn’t worry about which person or which group of people are going to be part of that number but it is also written that we should strive to be among that number. Who is it that hears the covenant of peace before Jesus comes? The 144,000. I’d like to consider the experience of the 144,000 as I believe it is beneficial for us to identify their experience. As we identify their experience we can consider our own experience and we can see if we are striving to be among that people or not. This is the vision that Nebuchadnezzar had that he couldn’t interpret. Daniel had been shown the vision by God and he tells the king what he saw. The king saw the statue with the head of gold, the chest of silver, the waist of brass, the legs or iron and the feet mixed with iron and clay.

It is said in the Bible that the dragon was wrath with the woman.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
This is a description of the people living just before Jesus comes. What comes after the remnant? Nothing. The remnant is the end but the remnant is part of something that has been. If you had a garment or some cloth and you had sold all the cloth and you have a bit left, the last bit at the end, what is that called? The remnant. The remnant is exactly the same as what the original was. These people aren’t like the apostolic church, they are the apostolic church. The dragon was wrath with such a people and he went to make war with this remnant living right at the end. Hasn’t Satan always been at war with Gods people? Indeed he has but at the end there is something that is going to be far more aggressive than in the past. Of these people it says;
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, [and] over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
