We need to look to Jesus in order to know how to exercise faith.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
For us to be Christians we need to live by the faith of Jesus. That requires us looking at him in order to see how it is that he went through his life. Jesus made a statement as his mission. His whole purpose of living was this.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. Read the rest of this entry
You can’t exhaust the word of God. There’s a temptation for us to not to meditate on things long enough, because we think that the Bible is exhaustible. Do you find fresh thoughts on texts?
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Read the rest of this entry
The only way we can be like Jesus is if we behold him.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
By looking and letting our minds eye absorb Jesus Christ, we would be changed from glory to glory. We can’t look at Jesus unless we walk with Him. Does Jesus stand still? The rich young ruler had an opportunity presented before him. Read the rest of this entry
Revelation 18:1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
This is the fourth angel the angel to lighten the world. How does this angel light the world? By the loud cry of the three angels’ messages. Adventists have been waiting for the loud cry to happen. We want to consider this lightening of the earth with its glory. Moses asked God to show him His glory. He expressed character traits to Moses. When the earth is lightened with His glory, it’s not the dazzling brightness like that of Hollywood, it’s the glory which is character. The character of God’s people is to lighten up the world. Prophecy says that a church is a woman.
Songs of Solomon 6:8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number. 9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her. 10 Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
Amidst all the different women or churches there is one that belongs to Christ. She has the sun and the moon and she is as terrible as an army with banners. Here is another description of the same woman.
Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Jesus through the cross became the propitiation for the sins of the world. With Jesus comes all the extra benefits. Read the rest of this entry
